Printing PC Screens

• Make sure VGACAP is set for the correct video card (Paradise/PVGA).
• Load VGACAP.
• Create screen.
• Hit Hot-Key Sequence (Ctrl-Alt-F4 for 800x600x256).
• To print screen without modifications:
  • Convert capture file to a 256 color GIF using VGAFIL with no options.
  • Send GIF to echo.
• To modify screen, add text, etc:
  • Convert capture file to a 256 color TIF using VGAFIL -F.
  • Import TIF file into Designer, make modifications.
  • Export TIF file from Designer. Make sure to use 24 bit RGB color to avoid aliasing.
  • Send TIF to echo.
• Use XV to crop picture and create Postscript file. It will probably give better results if a gamma correction of 0.5 or so is applied to the image.
• Print Postscript file to color laser printer (cps or cp200).
