Printing PC Screens
- Make sure VGACAP is set for the correct video card (Paradise/PVGA).
- Load VGACAP.
- Create screen.
- Hit Hot-Key Sequence (Ctrl-Alt-F4 for 800x600x256).
- To print screen without modifications:
- Convert capture file to a 256 color GIF using VGAFIL with no options.
- Send GIF to echo.
- To modify screen, add text, etc:
- Convert capture file to a 256 color TIF using VGAFIL -F.
- Import TIF file into Designer, make modifications.
- Export TIF file from Designer. Make sure to use 24 bit RGB color to avoid
aliasing.
- Send TIF to echo.
- Use XV to crop picture and create Postscript file. It will probably give
better results if a gamma correction of 0.5 or so is applied to the image.
- Print Postscript file to color laser printer (cps or cp200).
