Helmets are required on all Cascade Bicycle Club rides. All the rides are classified according to pace and the type of services provided by the ride leader.

5th Annual Ring Out the Old, Ring In the New

Our annual friendly ride to start off the New Year. Since the Huskies aren't in the Rose Bowl, come out and ride with us.

Mysterious Mondays

Fast Fun and Hilly. Lights of course. Icy conditions cancel.
Tuesday, January 3rd

STP Training Ride - SE Edition

Bill Wakeley, phone number 228-4365 is also ride leader. Year-round training rides every Tuesday, which stress safety, fitness and group riding skills. Fast paceline rides 20-23 mph (level, no-wind) from Renton to surrounding areas (Bellevue, Issaquah, May Valley, Kent, or Mercer Island). Large turnout splits into 2 groups. Light rain/showers tolerated, but Monsoon cancels. During dark winter months, lights are required, fenders recommended, mountain bikes with road tires are popular.

Alki Wednesday Night Series

HELMETS AND LIGHTS REQUIRED! Reflective vest recommended. Ride leaves promptly at 7:05 p.m. This is a stick together group. Ride pace will be high moderate to low brisk. Dinner stop at Spiro's Pizza after the ride. If it snows, contact Monica at 932-3610 for possible 10 mile mountain bike around West Seattle and Schmidt's Park.

More STP Training - SE Edition

Fast paceline rides 20 to 23 mph (level, no wind) from Renton to surrounding areas (Bellevue, Issaquah, Kent, Mercer Island). Depending on turnout, ride will split into two groups. Route will be determined at ride start depending on weather and group consensus. Each route will have a few good hills or short sprints. Riders will "re-group" into a paceline at top of hills and after sprints. Routes and distance will vary depending on weather.

In-city evening ride series. Lights required, mountain bikes recommended.

FRUMPS Ride the Trails

25-50 miles depending on weather. Heavy rain or snow cancels. A flat 50 miles from Marymoor to Gasworks with lunch at Still Life Cafe. If weather is marginal, we'll go to Logboom and lunch at Bothell Landing.

Standard Lake loop, counterclockwise, tandems welcome.

Marymoor to Maltby

Ride pace to Maltby will be MODERATE. Ride pace back to Marymoor will increase to BRISK. This is a stick together group. We will follow the back roads to Maltby and come back by way of Paradise Lake. Optional lunch stop after the ride near Marymoor.

Ride leader also Kelly Johnson, phone number 789-7260. Ride higher to the top of West Seattle, Magnolia, Capital Hill, Shoreline, Queen Anne. Visit two neighborhoods per ride. Travel moderate on flat, slow up hills.

Roll and Bowl Ride

Be prepared for one or two big hills! Leaders will reward you with hot soup and beverage at their house halfway through the ride. Bring your bowling gear for up to 3 games at $1.75/game (free shoes!) at end of ride. Meet at 12:30 p.m. at West Seattle Bowl, 4505 39th Avenue SW (just over the West Seattle Bridge, stay on Fauntleroy until 39th).

Take exit 192 on I-5 (from South take 41st street exit after leaving freeway). Turn left on 41st street then turn right at next street (3rd) toward Lowel. Follow road as it curves left to 2nd street. Turn left at stop sign (Lowel River Road) and go one block to 1st - parking on left.

Join us for any of these three events: Starting at 10:30 a.m., the live radio broadcast of "Sandy Bradley's Potluck" ($5). When the music and humor is over (12:00 p.m.), a ride through quiet neighborhoods. And, at the end of the ride, lunch at Grady's Pub. Look for the folks in lycra in the Museum's auditorium.

FRUMPS Do Lunch on Capital Hill

Take 148th Exit from I-90 to Lake Hills Boulevard. (This is a variation on Tim Baker's "Democrats & Republicans" December 3). We'll ride down the Lake Hills connector, across the I-90 Bridge, up the Interlaken Trail to lunch at the Surrogate Hostess on Capital Hill. Back to Samena via Bellevue Community College and Phantom Lake.

A high moderate to low brisk ride through Kent and Auburn to Flaming Geyser Park returning along the Green River. Bring lunch and water. Start is located 1/2 mile south of S. 212th on Russell Road. Heavy rain/snow or icy conditions cancel. Call leader for directions or if conditions are iffy.
